Drop arm ballpoint removal/refit kit

Use the 1st part of the kit again to compress the whole lot to enable the circlip to be fitted.View attachment 212005then fit the rubber boot and the clips that hold it in place. This was the hardest bit, those clips especially the large one that locates on the lip on the drop arm itself were a nightmare. I expect there is a knack/special tool for the job but I managed it in the end. I would have found the fitting of these clips in situ practically impossible I think so suggest using tie wraps instead. The kit was £17 iirc off eBay and would be a blessing imho if doing the job in situ, saves a lot of faff and time.

I knew I should have asked on here first!
I did it by sort of threading it on, letting the one end locate in the groove and turning the other end so the first end slipped around the groove as I wound it on if you see what I mean. Using this method, I was worried the end slipping round the groove would dig into the rubber and damage it but it didn't.
How do you get the top smaller clip in James? I did it by opening it up with two pairs of long nosed pliers but it was a struggle.
