Buyers guide/info?

Hi, new to this sort of car. Im used to playing around with frech scrap, having now grown up, looking for a disco 1 (cant afford disco 2 yet). Going to look a a 300tdi tomorrow. Apart from the obvious engine levels, crunching, juddering, slipping and rusting. What else should I be checking? Any help appreciated.
