Came across this listing on Ebay but cannot link it, report it to Ebay or even use the listing number to find it as it doesn't exist.
Listing is supposedly for a 2008 HST Auto. BUY IT NOW only £3000.
The listing asks to contact the email address. I did this out of curiosity a few days ago as I always go with the notion that if something seems too good to be true etc...........
I was met with a receiving email stating that the vehicle is in Spain and the seller cannot get a good price in Spain with it being RHD so would rather sell it at a loss back in the UK as it's still UK registered, AND that the £3000 also covers the import back to the UK with a registered shipping company.
What a load of b0ll0£ks. I sent an email back stating I believed it to be a con and surprise , surprise I haven't received a message back.
Type in 2008 Land Rover Freelander 2 2.2Td4 HST Auto. When you open the listing the Ebay emailaddress in the task bar is immediately replaced with:
2008 Land Rover Freelander 2 2.2Td4 HST Auto | eBay

listing number is 251434833514

there's something wrong with ebay too as it's hot linked to another hot somehow. Reported. ;)

I wonder if he could get me a red 2013 sd4 xs or hse cheap? If not then perhaps blue.

Gumtree is full of ads like this also....great price for a newish car, total bargain price to draw you in, usually listed at various places all over the country

I'm trying to sell my Freeelander on Gumtree at the mo & its crazy the amount of scammers who have been in touch...i kept in touch with a guy who wanted to ship it to Kenya..after his brother had got the train up from London to Perth to collect it..then he had it booked in a garage in London to convert it to LHD before it being loaded at the docks to Kenya :)

I kept this guy going for days, his emails were so funny.....i finally asked him if he could hook me up with a couple of wives from Kenya & offered to drive the Freelander to Kenya to collect them :D:D

did you see the scam baiter program just over Christmas ? they got one guy to come all the way from Africa to the most remote derelict church imaginable in Devon on the pretence of buying into his gold scam.

he went home empty handed and well p*ssed off.

Yep ..great programme I loved the way they played them.

I was scammed once it was a message from "ebay" it said the item you have bid on has been with drawn to view the item look here so I did ,that same day "I" was selling a big sit on lawn mower ,I did not know this until I was receiving emails about the item ,
so I got into it and put on do not bid this is a scam. Then I realised what they had done they had stolen my id and pass words I did take it off and report it to ebay , they suspended my account until I changed my pass words , now I only look into MY EBAY if it is not in the messages there then it is not real , but that was in the early days ,but I still look if it is in MY EBAY if not I spam it.

There's a few websites dedicated to scambaiting.
The people that receive scam mails adopt personas of sometimes famous people and try to see how many times they can get the scammers to visit their local Western Union office to collect cash that was never sent.
Have a look at Scamorama for a good laugh.

The car in Spain scam is a regular with many different models. Usually the item number is not recognised by Ebay which means the scammers are hacking Ebay and nothing is being done about it as it's been going on for years. One guy got caught parting with £30K for a merc with a market price of £50k. The deal was send the money to an Ebay holding account, they don't exist, and the car would be delivered by transporter, the cash being released to the vendor when the buyer said all was OK. Needless to say the car didn't arrive and the cash dissappeared.

The listing has some script to tell it to display another website. When you open the listing the script runs automatically. Clever trick but I assume eb ay normally try to stop this happening. The criminals probably try new methods etc and the cat and mouse effect takes place.
