Any suggestions on how i can reduce damage to the paintwork from hedges?

I own some land down a lane which has a 'unsuitable for motor vehicles' sign. Its single track over a stone railway bridge, partially tarmacked. There are 4 individual allotments/fields that boarder the lane and all have hedges. Most of the time the hedges are overgrown and scratch the paintwork on what ever car I'm using (Jumbuck pickup at the moment). I'd like to use the Discovery in the field for dragging some stuff around, but as its not the usual rot box for its age I am reluctant to get it scratched.

Unfortunately, not my lane, not my hedges and unsuitable for motor vehicle sign should read council don't give a flying f. Even though I've no right to, if I did cut them I'd have a lot of prickly bush to get rid off.

unless it's summat like Acacia, i doubt the "prickly" bush'd cause a problem to your tyres...

You could orluss borrow an oss and Bill hook and clear it that way first?...:D
