Got an advisory on my MOT the other day, saying I should look at replacing my rear bump stops before long (P38), on searching fleabay I notice someone offering poly stops.

Does anyone have any experience of these or thoughts on them, cause my initial reaction is that if the EAS does fail and I end up riding on them then poly ones are going to be seriously uncomfortable, in the order of six months in spinal traction:eek:

Polyurethane comes in various grades of "Hardness" and has been used in industry for many years as a replacement for springs in many tooling applications. It is durable and resistant to oils and other contamination, it also returns to it's original form or profile. I feel sure that it's a better material than rubber insomuch as it will not crack or perish. I would think that the manufacturers have used a similar Shore hardness as the original rubber.

Looking at the pics they appear to be only around 1/3 the height of the standard ones, so if there's no particular advantage to them on a P38 I'm just wondering if someone's found another way to sell expensive bits of plastic?
