Hello chums,

I have re-inforced my rotten safari door frame with fibre glass and hardner today, which I'm hoping should make it last that little bit longer.

I have also been aware of a hole in my bulkhead (top driver side corner, just where the door seal starts to come up the side of the wind screen) whch is about 1-2 cm deep and 1.5 cm high. I've swept it out with a screw driver and filled it with locktyte stuff which turns it black and hardens it. Is it worth filling it with fibre glass or is there a better alternative that I can use? I don't have immediate access to a welder, but I know a couple of people who could do it.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Depends on how much of a bodge you want. Someone tried to flog me a stage 1 V8 a while back that had an "interesting" bulkhead. Been ground back and sealed, then filled up with spandex, sanded flat and painted over

Well I decided to sweep the hole out with a screw driver and give it a good stipple with loctite rust remedy. When it hardened and turned black I filled it with fibre glass and smoothed it over. Seems to have done the job nicely. I also sanded the bottom of me dorrs off and painted loctite on, so they're nice and resistant again

Happy Chappy :)

BODGER!!

It's not really a bodge. If it'd been welded the gap wouldn't have all been propperly filled and it would have probably melted more of the metal around the hole from the heat of the welder. Either that or botch a patch over it which leaves it hollow! At least it's packed solid now.

Don't you feel a bit deprived driving they botched up wrecks, do you wear second hand trousers to go with? Whats a bulk head anyway?

ere! paulb why don't you write in your first langauge and then we can use babblefish to translate it. that way it might start to make sense.
