Later ones have torx heads rather than a crosshead screw. I drilled the heads off mine. They're tough and tend to work harden so you get through a few drill bits. But compared to the cost of the overall job it's just a minor expense. I've lost several of the discarded captive nuts down inside the A post but that's not really a problem because the old ones are rusty with an immovable bit of bolt stuck in them and new ones are cheap. I fitted stainless Allen head screws and new captive nuts with plenty of grease and hope that they'll come out again. If you're using non-standard screws, you may need to grind the diameter of the heads down a little as the countersunk recesses tend to be quite narrow.
