Bulk head repairs

Hopefully i will be tackling repairing the bulkhead on my series 2a this winter namely the a posts and the foot wells.

Just after a bit of advice on the best way to achieve this before starting. Such as would removing the bulkhead be advisable or can I get away with it in position etc. Any little tricks that those that might have done a few may have etc. Stuff like that
