Everytime i do it comes back broke this time its odometer bulb has gone .
i looked in handbook no joy ,searched rave and found them.
Now i need help, im doing the clock and the hevac also, almost evertime i turn on the ignition i need to tap it and the bulbs light up.

Right on rave the clock is 12v 2w bayonet simple enough
hevac is 12v1.2 w capless simple enough
the odometer is 14v 1.4 w T5 bulb/holder ?is this a capless bulb like the hevac??? help appreciated and best place to get as fle bay is a bit sparse and most are 5w so if anyone can head me in the right direction please:D

You won't get 14 volt 1.4 watt bulbs without a big search. Just use 12 volt 1.2 watt. Capless same as Hevac, same holder.

You will note if you look at Microcat that the holder and bulb unit EJP1180L is stated to be 1.4 watt. But the bulb that fits in it is RTC3635 12 volt 1.2 watt.

Have a word with Taximan. He wanted to do this 'right' and reckoned that he found the correct bulbs somewhere. Don't ask me why he bothered, I wouldn't have.

He bought them complete from a Land rover dealer. T5 adaptor and bulb complete. If you want the bulb alone go to a Lucas agent and ask for LLB1587. 14 volt 1.4 watt capless instrument bulb. Personally i just use the one that's easy to get at any motor factors 12 volt 1.2 watt.

I'm with you. I'd just use the ones that I've got boxes of from previous jobs.
I refuse to pay the prices for single bulbs.
:D

The 14 volt bulb would not be as bright as the 12 volt bulb therefore has to be a higher wattage. Both the 1.2 watt 12 volt and the 14 volt 1.4 watt give off about the same light. But the 14 volt one is supposed to last longer because it is less stressed. That would seem to be the theory behind it.

Ok all the bulbs in the dash are capless and the clock cigarette lighter but a big but the hevac are not capless they won't come out the bulbs are solderd to the holder look its all in one and they are slightly different from the t5 holders like the odometer ones

You're right.
You can buy a set of HEVAC bulbs on fleabay if you can wait
or get to a Maplins or similar and buy some bare wire bulbs and get the soldering iron out.

Yes thanks for that seems I got to get those separately
The longer ones I got will go in but there is no screwdriver slot to turn them

So all done clock cigar all three odometer and I did the three dash back lights while I was there .

Seems it might not be the bulb in the hevac I think I might have a dry joint going still doesn't come on sometimes with ingnition if I wiggle holder of said bulb nothing but if I tap casing it comes on

Still I will get new bulb/ holders just in case

Thanks

Ok found the kit

I know I have the three black ones and the brown one but what the hell is the capless one about ?? Didn't see that anywhere shouldn't have to take it apart ??

Should be black and green. Three Black for general lighting and one Green for backlight. Capless one goes under rotary switch, but you have to pull switch cap out, if it's working don't bother, they can be broken trying to get them out. So only attempt it if you have to. £14.90 is a lot of money for five 20 p bulbs.
