I'm looking for a set of A/T tyres just standard disco 300 tdi - 235/70/16 size as don't want to muck about too much!

Want some budget ones was hoping in the region of £200 a set (hopeful I know!)

Have been looking at these

235/70/16 Advantage AT 4x4 Retread Tyre 105-P - 4x4 Tyres

and

INSA TURBO TYRES / 4X4 / INSA TURBO TRACTION RANGER - 235/70R16 106S TL :: £60.60 :: 4x4 Tyres - SUV Tyres - All Terrain Tyres - Off Road Tyres - 16" :: R16" - 235/70/16, 235/70 R 16 ::

But don't really know the difference between retread and remould... basically I do quite a lot of motorway driving but also want a bit more grip off road, so wanting something quiet and comfortable ish but with a moderate off road ability, cheap.

Insa Turbo seem to be the brand to go for..

Any ideas?

:D

I would take insa turbo over kingpin given the choice.

Never actually tried the kingpin tyre but a friend had the special track style and went back to normal insa special tracks saying they were no where near as good

Yeah the insa turbo tyres to seem to be much better.

You mean these ones?

They say insa turbo special track.

Look a bit pure mud tyre to me really.

special tracks are a mud tyre and not really recommended if you are doing a lot of road driving as you will wear away the edges very quickly.

ats are good enough for what you want to do or even something like the sahara. they arent as extreme but arent too bad on the road either.

I've got the insa turbo AT Ranger on mine. Only been stuck out laning once on Salisbury Plain but was real claggy that day. For road and laning round here they will be fine. If you planing to PnP you might want the Dakar instead.

Little bit concerned about the road speed rating and noise as I tend to cruise at 80 in my disco.. this is the only issue..

Been using the rangers for about 2 years now bloody good tyers that good I just ordered some more to replace them

i have the dakars on my bus and have to say they were brilliant in the powder snow (bit ropey on the ice mind) at xmas and great off road aswell. no problems on road with em but you do get a bit of whine at 75-80 ish. just out of interest how much are they for a set of 5 as mine came with the disco when purchased and i would get them again when these need changing
