I would like to get bucket seats for my 2002 TD5. The main reason is to gain a little more headroom - I am tall and find I get neck ache which I think would be solved if the seat were a little less thick ie less padding might gain an inch or 2. I also thought they might look good too. Could anyone advise on suitable bucket seats that are not crazily expensive?

I have bucket seats in mine. Main problem is the fronts slope up and lift ya feet away from the pedal (i've put 4" blocks on me pedals.

The prob with "true" bucket seats is the height of the side supports. They are designed for vehicles (cars) that you sit "down" into rather than a landy, in which you climb "over and down" into. The sides can impede access considerably. My understanding was that you wanted "lower" seats, but with some side support.
As yu say - not proper bucket seats.
