Some countries they are legal, some countries, like UK, they are technically
legal, but I would guess you'd have a hard time convincing a court that
they're a 'safe' addition to a vehicle for use on our roads ...

Hence why most in UK are easily de-mountable ... ;)

EU regulations and directives specify that all accesories should be within
the factory specified exterior dimensions of a vehicle.

As such the brush/Bush guards are WITHIN the dimensions of the vehicle.

On the other hand the same regulations and directives also specify that the
accessories should not be dangerous or harmful to passengers of other
vehicles or pedestrians.

As such the brush/bush guards may be characterised as dangerous and
therefore illegal.

A court decision here in Greece has accepted that the brush/bush guards
fitted to a genuine Camel Trophy vehicle were legal (together with the
bullbar, rear tow hitch, front hitches etc) since they were factory fitted
and the vehicle was properly registered for the road carrying this kind of
equipment from the factory.

Take care
