Broken down freelander

Hello i have a poorly freelander and could do with some help it started hessitating and now it has stopped the aa man said it is the hp pump how can i check this and does any one have the timing instructions for a 20diesel so i can remove the pump and get it repaired

hello agin earthling . . .didnt i jest talk to you up er bit [be down er bit after this post, less sumone writes on tother] reet wot motor is it [td4 or seiries] if its the td4 . . .change fuel filter furst, and wiff the i/p pipe dissconected it should **** oot fuel from the tank pump [thets the week one that normaly pack up ] so try that furst. . . .oh un welcome earthling

I have looked in the tank this model does not have a in tank pump the only thing in there is a sender unit.
This model is an l series 2000my it has the hand bellow pump on the inner wing which draws the fuel up and i have changed the filter but still no good.

Common fault on L series is the wiring to the injector pump can chaff on the bracket on the pump, have a look at that.

Check continuity of all the wring from pump to ecu and make sure none are shorting to earth.

Slacken off one of the injector pipes and crank it to see if fuel is coming out, I have seen these where fuel does come out but when under pressure, i.e all pipes are tight, the injectors dont squirt because the pump cant get up to pressure.

If all thats ok I do suspect the injector pump, they do pack up and I have replaced a few.

tHANKS FOR ALL THE ADVISE BUT DOES ANY ONE HAVE A WIRING DIAGRAM FOR THIS MODEL SO I CAN CHECK OUT THE CIRCUITS ALSO DOES ANY ONE HAVE A CAM TIMING DIAGRAM SHOULD I HAVE TO REMOVE THE PUMP.

As i am a newby on here could i ask for some assistance where i can get timing diagagrams from and wiring diags from i did a search on freelander wiring diags but no joy please help.
