Well I done the stupid thing and I fitted a britpart clutch on to the truck.
289 miles later complete failure leaving me stranded at the side of the road.

Warning to all. Do not fit britpart clutches.

Pictures show what happened

Do Britpart make parts for "trucks"

They do seem to have a pretty shocking reputation, depending on who you talk to!

Personally I use decent OEM or official LR parts, its just not worth buy poor quality/cheap parts.

But thats just my opinion!

I had my first experience of Britpart quality the other day, ordered what thought was a decent part, paid enough for a decent part, turned up in a B- box. Brake master cylinder - porous casting - bubbles in it - should have gone straight back into the melting pot. Needless to say Ive bought a proper one elsewhere

depending on who you talk to will depend whether the guy bought cheap pattern from britpart or oe ,oem ,branded or genuine from britpart, they are a wholesaler not a parts brand or manufacturer

Yes this is very true,

I have used Britpart supplied OEM , Branded and Genuine parts.!

I always use OEM and Branded parts as a matter of choice and sometimes they come in a Britpart box or Bearmach, etc, etc or their own manufacturers box. it pays to do research and cross reference manufactures numbers.

Ie a Brake pedal switch for my Disco 1 with ABS is actually a BMW part that came stamped BMW in a Land Rover bag, from Bearmach !! and it was identified as a OEM part, and was identical to the original 17 year old part also stamped BMW.
I cross referenced the manufacture's part number and I discovered that part fits hundreds of different cars of various marques across Europe !!

In fact in the past for many years Britpart had the contract to supply parts to the MOD and to "Land Rover Classic parts". Both theses came in Genuine parts boxes and bags.

A lot of people say Britpart is ****part, but they are still in business and selling lots of parts, and as said above it all depends who they buy off ie Delphi, Borg and Beck, Lucas, etc or some cheep chinese pattern part producer.

As always you get what you pay for, Quality costs !!

Regards

Jonathan

Yes totally agree, before I bought my new rear air springs I called the supplier, established they were def made by Conti and placed the order.

I was a bit miffed when they arrived in Britpart boxes but they were the right part with Conti markings so no problem :)

As James says, Britpart just buy in bulk, they don't make anything, and while I'd be happy to use their parts for most jobs, I do inspect them carefully before fitting.

That looks like a TD5 clutch plate, having rivets fail like that suggests more than just a manufacturing defect.

Most clutches I have had from them have been AP/Borg & Beck brand.

Ive bought front and rear disc's calipers timing belt and tensioner kit and head gasket kit, I must say that the gasket and belt were OEM and a bit more expensive than their other ones, but I always use their filter kits.
