My front offside caliper is siezed, I priced a caliper with a local 4x4 centre at £38, and with a motor spares shop at £68. I think the 4x4 centre sells britpart spares, so I'm wondering are britpart calipers ok, or should I go for the more expensive unit. Any advice welcome, thank you.

the one from the motor spare shop might be Brit part I have used parts of Brit part but never compared them with others but of late I use the more expensive parts as they do last longer.it is of course depending on your pocket at the time.

Surely these aftermarket brands must be to a decent standard, or the dealers would'nt sell them for fear of comebacks.

Job done! I ended up changing both calipers, I used the britpart brand because of costs, they seemed fine to me, so I'll see how things go.
The nearside lower slide pin was siezed, but I managed to remove and clean it, and used some silicone grease when I replaced it.
I changed the offside first and bled the caliper, then the nearside and bled the caliper, is this ok or should I have bled the whole system.
I did go for a test drive and had good brakes. All input welcome, thanks

Keep us posted on the life of the Britpart calipers. I've never used there's myself as I stick with my LR specialist (you know the one ;))
Bleeding just the part you replaced is acceptable provided the brakes feel ok.

I did look at your LR specialist Nodge, but as well as the price the britpart calipers were in stock and ready to go.
I'll definately post any problems with them.
regarding the bleeding, i'll keep an eye on the brakes as the pads bed in, and any problems i'll bleed the whole system.
