I have had Bridgestones on my Disco that have worked a treat in the snow here in Frogland, but I read poor reviews on the web for this brand/model....

I'm just about to get 4 new tyres for the Freelander - Anybody on here have Bridgestone D684 mounted on their car? What do you think of them in the wet/snow?

hi harold, just to say my td4 had d684s on 15inch alloys when i got it at six months old.they lasted 21k on the fronts.they seemed to grip ok to me in various conditions. now got pirelli scorpions on now they seem just as good just hope they last longer. tim.

Hi Timfreecom, as chance would have it I had to take scorpion ST's as the Bridgestones they ordered were not high enough speed rating  Sadly I had no choice but to take them as I need to get back to the UK very soon.

From what I can gather on the net they have mixed reviews, and seem a little noisy compared to the Avons I had last - do you find them noisy?

Have you had to try them in the snow yet?

I changed all 4 on my TD4 a couple of years ago now. It had Pirelli Scorpion STR's on when I bought it, so I opted for the same. (Don't know what the difference is between ST's and STR's)

Big disappointment!!!!

They've changed the tread pattern and mine are very noisy.
They've still got plenty of tread left and gave excellent performance in the snow last winter but, for me, I wouldn't buy them again.

I've got Goodyear wrangler atr's on my td4,no difference in road noise to the standard pirelli road tyres it had when I bought it,yet to try it on the snow, but can't wait, hammer the power down and drift round corners, hell yeah

hi harold, yes i do find the scorpions fitted to my freelander 5 door sw more noisy than the bridestones that iv got on my commercial td4. in last winters snow ,cant say that i noticed any difference in traction, both brilliant.hope this helps. tim.
