Breaks feeling crunchy when pressed

Hi
I need some advice on breaks. I have a 1999 Range Rover P38 2.5 DHSE, Since having it all of 6 months, its hardly been on the road because of one issue or another that I am plodding along to get this beautiful best back on the road.

However I have recently replaced the front sliders and break pads on both sides and the drivers side caliper and it has been breaking fine since. However I drove it this morning and they sometimes feel crunchy when pressing down on the break and then they go back to being back to normal. No lights come up on the dash so Im a but confused as to what it might be and if I quickly break, it feels like its slipping. I have also replaced both ABS sensors.

That's about it but if you need more info, please let me know.

Any advice will be greatly received

No idea, but IMO brake callipers should be replaced in pairs. Did you change the brake fluid?

Crunchy as in the ABS cutting in?

Yes I think it could be the ABS kicking in, but i feel like i'm going hit someone up the arse when breaking, there is also a clicking sound coming from the pedal.

I bleed the fluid on the drivers side as advised and the Range Rover didn't say i need to replace both calipers. Sorry I am a complete novice at this and purely working from advice, youtube, here and a manuel.

Yup....that's ABS/TC I believe. Maybe you have a wheel not braking at all (jammed caliper) and so the ABS/TC kicks in.

So, you have one new calliper and one that may be partially seized, that would certainly lead to some odd braking effects. Also if you did not follow the complicated bleeding procedure when you fitted the new calliper, there may be air in the system.

When you say manual, you mean the RAVE workshop manual?

Always replace brake, steering and suspension components in pairs....I don't care what Land Rover would have said to you!

Also, the entire brake system would need bleeding - it sounds like the ABS is cutting in and out, do you get a judder through the brake pedal?

Manuel must not have read RAVE then.

'Tis Siberian caliper!

If there is ticking when the ABS pump is running the system has air in it.
