On a lwb v8 or 6 cyd are the front shoes on top and bottom with the cyd's at the side or are the shoes at the side and the cyd's at the top and bottom????? is that any better for u sir???

it all depends on how your back plates are mounted. if you back plates are mounted with the wheel cylinder at the top then the shoes go side to side. if your back plates are mounted with the cylinders on the side then they go top and bottom.

if you think they are wrong then change them to how you think they should be.what puzzles me is that you state you havent had it long and youdont know much about landrovers. based on this information would you explain how you come to the conclusion that you think they are on wrong

can the back plates be mounted 90 degrees out?

even if they are - it wont affect the brakin tho - shirley?

ive been reading with interest your dilemma and i can understand that your unsure if you have the correct brakes fitted to your vehicle as per it left the factory with or they have been modified sometime in its life...
i cannot answer that question as i have no idea
