Hello everyone. Newbie here with a 2003 Disco.

Was coming home about a month ago from a weekend trip with the wife and kids and smelled the unmistakeable aroma of burning brakes. Pulled over on the side of the road and found both of the front rotors smoking. Long story short waiting 3 weeks for parts (I live in Germany) got it back yesterday with new pads, rotors, calipers and hoses.

Driving home today from a trip to the park once again with the wife and kids and smelled burning brakes. Got out and found the rotors hot but not ruined. What the F is the problem. I automatically thought it was the calipers the first time but know I'm not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.:frusty:

are there any signs of crushed pipes or restrictions in the pipe work, steel and flexi? as these will allow fluid to flow to the calipers due to the pressure being applied but can restrict the return flow hence still having pressure on the calipers and hence cause them to stick and get warm

oh an did you change the brake fluid for new?
only other thing i can think of are the brake valve splitter thing( perportioning valve i think its called)being sticky or stuck

Where exactly is the valve splitter thingy :D. I've got the RAVE CD and can't find the pre porportioner (sic) anywhere.
