<DIV class=content>Hi All
Can I run this by you all ? As you will be aware I have just bought my first 1999 TD5 ES. The front calipres were binding/seizing on , I tried freeing the calipres off which worked , to an extent ! But I then bought a new set of front calipres which I fitted . I have done brakes on many cars but never a disco !
Here is my question : when I bled the brakes when the new calipres were fitted all the air was out, there was solid back pressure on the brake pedal with the engine not running. When I start the engine and re-apply the brakes , I am able to push the brake pedal to the floor slowly, however when I drive it it is applying enough brake pressure to engage the ABS which suggests the system is working correctly. When re tried the above hapens i.e. good pressure with engine not running , but able to push to the floor with the engine running , doesnt sound right to me , am I missing something peculiar to the Disco
Any help greatfully received !
Alan
