After replacing the brake shoes on the rear axle along with some seals gaskets and wheel bearings, I took a short trip out and returned with scalding hot brake drums (only knew because of the smell - and getting a little burnt after a quick feel). Later I removed the brake drum to find the top corners of each shoe were black and had obviously been rubbing. The brakes have been adjusted and cannot go 'in' any more. On the road, a humming noise was also present after some time - about a 30 min journey with a 20 min stop aer 15 mins - Although the drive member / hub was warm, it was not scorching like the brake hub.

Can't think for a minute that this is normal - but I have been surprised before!

Thanks
