Brake Stuck?

first release lever then get yer arse underneth and see if you can turn the drum. you should be able to move it a few degrees. if not try slacken the adjustment. if that dint work hit the fooker with a big hammer
 
Hand brake is off. And I did check the wheels and none were hot. Diff is to the right and down in "H" there is a real metal on metal squeal from the back.

You wouldn't get heat from the wheels if it is the hand brake, it is at the back of the gearbox, it locks the rear propshaft.

If you stop it on a hill (not too steep but enough for it to roll) will it hold itself?

If you get to the stage you are sure the hand brake is not at fault I would then jack up each wheel one at a time and make sure you can spin it freely by hand, if not its the footbrake.
 
Thanks chaps. But as I said at the beginning I am no mechanic. So I know what to do but no f***** idea where to adjust or bang.
