This might amuse you...I have not road tested my brakes since replacing the master cylinder, reservoir and a few other bits, so took it out. Damnit - pedal pumps up and goes hard! You cursed my brakes hehe!
Took front drum off...the pivot (for the shoes) which is attached to the back plate has pulled through the plate and mangled up lots of things. Oh dear!
hahaha, finally got some 'me time' and managed to get a set of three braided brake hoses at the recomendation of the garage that sorts my p38, spent all yesterday fitting, cursing and bleeding the system.
for a start the old fuild looked like gravy instead of lager and just to really hack me off, i got to the last wheel, o/s/front and have rounded the bleed nipple and am totally banjaxed! have tried 10mm & 11mm & 3/8" & 7/16", short and long pliers all to no avail! because of where the pipe that feeds the fluid from the top part of the drum fits to the bottom next to the bleed nipple i dont think i can get mole grips to fit in there........
thats assuming i can find where i've left my mole grips!
AAARRRRGGGHHH ! scuse my language but im now getting totally frustrated and fcuked off!
Simple solution: Get new brake cylinders, they're cheap as chips (or, lets say, cheap as bleeding nipples)
you can try bleeding at pipe fitting loosening then pushing pedal down and tightening before letting pedal up repeat till no air ,but likely hood it they will be as hard to undo new genuine cylinders is way forward, but i often bled top cylinder front that way
