I need to replace a few lengths of brake pipe on my Disco 1 and wondered if anyone has used or has any opinions on this that I found on amazon? Would a novice be able to fit it or would tailor made pieces be preferable?

Thanks in advance.

It's easy but you need a ferule kit which are about 20 quid in machine mart. Watch a load of vids on you tube and it's easy. Just keep practicing on one end in till it looks the same as the one you took off

you can join a pipe if you have a very long lenght or awkward shape using a male and female or you can by joiners ,for your vehicle male fittings have a single(bubble) flare, female double as in pic below double flare takes 2 actions the bubble 1, a joiner in second pic

Thank you, I'm going in and I may be some time!!
I've done this on two Freelanders and a mate's Mondeo. Tip: When disconnecting the old line, push down the brake pedal (it doesn't have to be all the way down) and wedge it there with a piece of wood against the seat. This will stop any dripping. Copper brake line is great - easy to flare (with practice) and can be run through the vehicle like wiring.
Another tip: Don't forget to put the fitting on the line before you flare it!
Tip 3: Run the new line alongside the old in segments, cutting it away as needed. That way, you won't forget where the line should be routed.
Tip 4: You cannot tighten the fittings with copper like you can with steel. If you try to, you will shear off the flare and the line will come apart under pressure. Hand tight, then spanner it till snug. Check for drips with the engine running and brake pedal applied (an assistant helps here). Nip up any drippers.
Best of luck.
