Have a series 3 with the 10inch brakes front and rear. Have replaced shoes and drums. Used good quality shoes not brit part. However the brake pedal is going up and down when it is pressed. This would usually mean an out of round brake drum but I have fitted 4 new ones. Anybody got any ideas.

Did you fuly bleed the system after fitting your new gear?

It could be that, although you have fitted new drums, one could be sitting slightly off-centre. Check that they are all freely rotating concentricly by using a DTI or a holding a pencil against each of the drums.

Make sure that they are fully flush and tight to the hubs.

Even new drums might not be perfect!

Hope this helps.
