spoke to previous owner he says he,s never had this problem so i,m going to have to sort the problem just dont know where to start

cant be bothered with legal action just rather fix the p38 just dont know where to start first rangerover i,ve owned not off to too good a start really so any help to find the cause of the problem would be great

At a guess
fluid leak
boiled fluid-bleed according to rave manual
failed accumulator or
-normally pedal goes hard or no brakes and fluid everywhere=brake modulator

Welcome to the joys of 4x4 syphilis aka a P38

Powered by beer

thanks already checked for fluid leaks all dry and i dont think the fuild has boiled as it had been parked for 2 hours not running this only happened when i started it back up is there any way to check if its the accumalator please

Normally with working Eka keycode you would disconnect battery and pump pedal till hard.

Otherwise a symptom would also be very little in the way of change in pedal feel and possibly abs pump motor running constantly

I'm not at my best as full of beer and beer goggles too

Lets try with a sensible answer - you'll have to accept a lot of non useful banter on this forum!

Is the brake pump presure motor running? It should run for a few seconds, maybe 20 seconds max when ignition first turned on, once system is up to presure it'll stop. If not running at all, there's a problem to start with. If it does run then stop, it should run again for a few seconds on every 2nd press of the brake pedal. If running on every application of the brakes the accumator is knackered. Not possible to check the accumulator, just change it, about £100, doesn't usually require bleeding of the brakes. If the brake pump is knacked, it can be changed also without bleeding the brakes, if you use the right technique.

if yu think that telling the OP to read the crock of **** thread is useless banter, then you sir are a complete moron

I had exactly the same thing recently and, like you, one minute OK the next not OK. Pedal to the floor and all three lights on. Mine was caused by worn brake pipes - there was one place where it was leaking but on investigation the whole system was shot. Replaced the lot and now right as rain. I've got a "friendly" mechanic and it still cost £500.
