Hi guys hoping someone can shed some light on a problem I have with my 2009 defender 90. I have a brake light warning light constantly on but when I depress the brake pedal it goes out, on rare occasions it goes out it's own but it would be back on again the same day. I've checked the fluid level and sensor these are all ok, checked the hand brake switch and this is also ok

Have you had someone around the back of the Landy to see what happens to the brake lights when you press the brake pedal?
Is the lens cracked allowing water in? I'm no auto electrician, but if the system believes the bulb has gone and it hasn't, then I'd be looking for a short in the light unit first.

If the fluid level is ok, remove the brake fluid reservoir cap, and turn it upside down. Leave it upside down on some rag and see if the warning light goes out. If it does, you need a new cap.
