I've bought three new brake flexi hoses for my '69 2A 88", one for the rear axle and two for the front where they go straight into the wheel cylinders (no additional copper sections as on a S3).

I won't complicate things by saying too much.. :).. but are the longer male looking hose ends for the three female fittings coming off the chassis, and the short flat hose ends for the rear axle t-piece and front wheel cylinders? Cheers.

Pretty sure the long ends go to the chassis, you need longer threads for the nut and washer to hold it in the chassis bracket.

Right Rodeo Joe. Those convex ends also mate well with the double flare in the female fittings coming off the chassis.

The flat hose ends going in the front wheel cylinders surprised me. I've checked the rear cylinders by eye with a torch and the floor of the thread is shaped just right to accept a double flare. I haven't checked the front cylinders by eye yet.. does anyone know off-hand if they should be a flat bottom to match these hose ends for a 2A where there's no intermediate copper pipe section?

I took an S2 axle to bits last wkend, same set up I can have a look for the flexy if u like cos I left the nut on it. Problem is wont be till the wkend now cos at wrk. I realise that’s not a lot of help now but if you don,t get sorted let me know and I will dig it out.

Long end with cone is for the double flare - 2 nuts to hold to bracket then flare nut. Square end goes to cylinder and uses a copper washer to seal. The cylinders have 2 connections, either flexi and pipe or flexi and bleed nipple if its TLS. Cut the old flexi off then you can use a ring spanner and get it apart without damaging the pipe.

Cheer rob. I've got a shakeproof washer and one nut per hose for fixing to the chassis brackets, not two nuts. I've also got a copper seal per hose for the cylinder and t-piece connections.
