The front brake disc shield on my td6 has come away from the hub it's rattling and rubbing so if I cant tighten it back up and i have to remove it should I replace it or just run without it any opinion s welcome cheers

id remove it and any other completely as you usually find that side of disc in poorer condition, unless its vital to keep any leads etc off disc

took the wheel off this morning and removed the caliper and carrier then cut the cover inhalf with a pair of heavy duty tinsnips and removed it ,it had rusted away round all 3 mounting bolts ,couldn't be bothered to remove the disc and rebolt the cover back on with some big washers, when I get the time ill probably remove the other front one awell .

Had to stop at the side of the road today to bend one of mine out a tad as after a bumpy lane it decided to start scraping on the disc, piggin noisy!
Reckon will take advice on this thread and take them off as look pretty old and getting flimsy in places :)
