Hi
I’m trying to sort out new brake calipers for my comp safari. Just wondering if anyone can tell me the new equivalent of:- AP 3247-640c (front) & Lockheed 1242-292 ( rear) . Think they are defender axels or possibly Range Rover.
I’ve tried phoning the big parts suppliers but they want chassis numbers etc, and I don’t have them as it’s 2 front end chassis welded together
Many thanks

No idea, but a few clues might help, vented discs? live axles? one or two brake pipes per caliper?
Or maybe chuck some pics of the calipers up
I might be wrong but I thought most live axle calipers were interchangable?

The britpart ones are actually pretty good, used a few and none have had any issues.

Thanks for the reply. It’s a live axel , twin pot , solid disc.I’ll try and get some photos tomorrow

Just contact AP Lockheed, they'll give you the original manufacturer part ref' no's. Or, go onto their website and use their component search catalogue.

Sliders of fixed caliper?

200/300 disco were fixed calipers,ie 4 pots front and 2 pots rears as were defender, but not sure on what year defender changed to slider if at all?
Early (approx pre 93) disco/range rover had twin brake hoses to the front fixed 4 pot brake calipers.
D2 onwards are slider calipers, 2 pot front and single rears.

Unfortunately I can’t check or take pics at the mo as I’m hauled up at home with covid and the comper is down my mates workshop ‍♂️. So I’m banned from there at the mo.
