Hi guys . I have a freelander 1 td4 2002 . Brake light on left doesn't work . I have taken the bulb holder and disconnected from the wire . The centre wire has power to it but the bulb holder has no power when reconnected to the wire . The bulb is fine as checked on the other side .
Do the holders give any problems as cant see if there is anything broken in it .
Cheers Mark

The brake light in the bumper is a dual filament holder and bulb which includes the side lights. Does the sidelight work? Are you sure that you are checking voltage on correct pin, i.e not the sidelight !

Worth checking before you change lamp holder.

Hi Andy . I got the missus to hold her foot on the break pedal while I tested the pins in the connector. Both worked on the centre pin tried on the bulb holder and nothing on the nearside but ok on the offside . I also swapped the bulb holders over and one doesn't work on either side . It must be the bulb holder . I didn't think they give any trouble to be honest and you cant see if anything is broken in it .

I had similar issues, cleaned it and it would work for a bit. Eventually put a new bulb holder in and no more issues.
Dual filament bulbs go in one way, but can be forced in the wrong way. I imagine the bulb just doenst go far enough down to connect to the terminals.

I've checked the two terminals and they are clean and I bent them up a little so no problem . The issue is that there is no power coming from the terminals so I presume there is a break some where . Only one thing for it and get a new bulb holder . Thanks for the replies to all
