Brings back memories growing up and helping with the harvest, great trying to do a hill start with a loaded trailer, no hand brake and ****ty gears!!

Considering David Brown are a gearbox maker their tractor boxes are crap haha. Has to be said though I'm not a fan of the Browns, much prefer my Ford's, they actually work! But this old thing came as a package deal with a baler.

They arent as refined as a Deere or a Massey. But still have a following, both on smaller farms, and in rallying and ploughing matches.

They are capable of a lot of useful work if looked after, I have had several. And not the same prices as a Deere or Massey either.

Used to work on a dairy farm than ran 7 Massey's, always had problems with them but good machines really. I think the problem with my brown is she hasn't been looked after at all, where-as our 4600 Ford has nearly 9,000 hours clocked with a loader on front and is all original, still never puts a foot wrong

I have a Massey myself now! :) And often worked with all of them on other farms. I dont mind a Ford, but one has never come up when I needed it.
