Hi All,

New to the site but not Freelander's this is my second one. Had a four year gap with a Deawoo Lanos, what a horrid, horrid spiteful little car that is. But I waffle on.......my problem is this.

Bought the TD4 from a dealer, it had been part ex'd for a new one. It was on private plates so a new log book is required from those minions in the DLVA (Log book required to tax it with new reg mark) It seems to be taking them an age just to process the request from the dealer. In the meantime I cant drive it (legal and lawful) Dealer is not able or happy to release the TD4 to me until it turns up in the post!!

Any way around this anyone.

Many Thanks

The dealer should have the "New Keeper Supplement" from the old log book V5, which, if filled in with your details, can be used to tax your vehicle regardless of registration along with MOT and Insurance Docs:)

just go to the post office and tell them you've lost the log book, they'll then give yer a form to fill out saying yerv lost it, they'll then give yer yer tax disc

Thanks for your suggestions you TWO LOL Seems the pixies at DVLA joined up all the copper wires and got the docs to the dealer today. Picked "Big Red" up this afternoon all legal like. Drove it home and was smiling like a big smiling thing. Its on my drive, parked up and seems to be saying to the micro cars in my street C2's yarisisiisis Corsa's KA's Et al...."feck off this is my Street I own it". Happy Days!

Thanks All.

Thanks sjwillw when I picked it up the dealer put a quarter tank of diesel in it. I straight away added another £20.00 worth (fuel strike) and I have been driving it like a loon ever since. Now I don't know much about fuel consumption only that diesels are better than petrol unless that is you own a Sunseeker big feck off boat. But my fuel gauge has NOT moved. Maybe its broke or that ****box of a Deawoo drained my wallet for four years. Anyhoo I love driving again.
