Just putting 200tdi into my series :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):).. so have decided to give it a new timing belt, water pump. Nice however cant see how to undo the bottom pulley bolt... yes i have tried a 30mm socket thanks already

Socket and breaker bar on it, wedge it against the chassis and flick the key (make sure you have disconnected the starting system cos the last thing you want is it actually starting!!)

Also an air gun can be a good way.

suppose i should have asked how do you lock off the pulley ..i aint got the gear box back yet ..happy days

they are bloody tight, because they get fitted with loctite, or in the case of one i put back some years ago araldite to hold the key in its rather worn slot.

thanks dudes ....Well in the end i decided to weld a old output sthaft from a old gearbox on to a scaff pole straight across the chassis that locked it up .... 30mm on a 5ft scaff bar provided all the torque needed to move one bitch tight bolt........ now all i gotta do is remove 2 broken studs.....and we got one refurbed 200 ... oh happy days.....
