Hi Guys,
Just picked up a 2001 TD4 and both rear passenger electric windows are dead; nothing from the switches on the front panel or those on the doors themselves. Fuses are fine. The other windows (including rear window) are OK. That they're both not playing makes me think it might have something to do with the inhibitor switch? The manual seems to suggest that this switch won't over-ride the front controls however.
Anyway, thought I'd ask the question in case anyone I'm missing something obvious?
Cheers

It's entirely possible the stupidly thin cables that lift the window have snapped & tangled up in the motor... However, that's worst case.

Try placing finger tips against outside of the glass & see if you can tease it down, if so, snapped cables. This is a very common issue on these.

Failing that, could be poor electrical connections or perhaps the 12v feed wires have gone inside the plastic sleeve where they go from the "B" pillar to the door.

Just have to suck it and see I'm afraid. Let us know what you find :)

Thanks for your input Doo! I've tried working the glass to test the cables - seems solid. Given that there's no response at all from either window (I assume I'd hear some motor noise if power was getting to the motors) I'm guessing something electrical. I'll take one of the door panels off to be sure about those cables though. The B-pillar wiring certainly 'looks' good - sleeve still clean & intact. I might try the switch panel and see what I can see...

Of course do the electrics 1st, I was suggesting a worst case scenario. If the switches got damp, then that would cause issues, but both at the same time....

However, it's entirely possible someone spilled a drink in the inhibitor switch, but again, the front switches should over ride the inhibitor!

Leccy stuff can be such a mare  Anyway, if you can, try swapping the switches around to rule them out first. Then check the fuse holders are clean with no sign of damp or corrosion. Finally, if you do go into the door, check for signs of water ingress and the electrical connections in there.
