Hahaha I've been waiting for that. It only took 18 posts... Expecting it a lot sooner :p

Personally I wouldn't want a Tdi either. It is not original to my vehicle, I don't need a lot of road speed, so power isn't an issue, and I love the dirt cheap parts for indirect injection engines. £2 for a fuel filter instead of a tenner, half the price for injector service, etc.

Re your earlier post, are you aware that all fuel, road or red, now contains up to 10% bio-fuel! Which is basically veg oil.

What this means is that all the fuel pumps, Bosch or CAV, which are now operating, have been running some veg for years. For this reason I always mix a lubricity additive in fuel, either at the pump for road fuel, or in my red diesel tank for tracs etc.

As you have several engines, and presumably several injection pumps, why not just start mixing about 20% veg oil in your fuel, plus a splash of lubricity additive, and just run the CAV pump.

I can see no reason it will be harmed by this, and I have seen them run on some dreadful stuff, some pour sump oil in the tank!

And if it does knacker it in time, you can just unbolt it and fit one off the other engines. Or try and convert to Bosch then.

Might be cheaper and less hassle, and you would get some cost savings from running the veg. :)

I didn't realise it was that much! Crikey, I thought that it was only 2-5%. I think that you are right though I need to get my lady through its MOT before I mess with installing the Bosch pump. I'm still going to work this out in the meanwhile

The actual percentage will vary, but can be up to 10%

Supposed to be good for the environment, apparently  :D
