Following on from Fanatic's recent thread on people taking the **** with stuff they have borrowed brought me to thinking:

When was the last time I borrowed something from someone and when was the last time I loaned something out?

For me, it was when I was doing my injector seals on my TD5. I was given as loan of an extraction tool lever by my local independant garage when I popped in to ask them how they get the injectors out (I'd planned on using my muckle great big impact hammer/puller.) Oh, and my nephew's driveway & carport to do the job in. The tool was returned to the garage the following day.

Last loaner doesn't really count. Like Kaos mentioned in the other thread, one of my nephews and I are more like best mates. We will do anything and everything to help each other out, usually without having to ask and there's never any money changes hands. Almost every job I do is done on his driveway and all his tools are freely available to me, though seldom used as I have all my own. He mentioned that my new ramps would be handy so I have left them with him on "loan."

Your turns, be honest, including how long it took to return the item and in what condition?
