Hi,

Whenever I unlock my FL2 the boot (tailgate) also unlocks and opens. By opens I mean it pops open a bit as if I'd pressed the tailgate release button on the remote.

This happened a while a ago and it seems to go away once I'd reset the "open all doors or just the drivers door" option as per the handbook. This is where one press opens only the drivers side and a second press then opens the whole car.

Any way I reset it by pressing and holding the unlock button then pressing the lock button until the indicators flashed but the boot still pops up every time I go to unlock the car.

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

think your handset has a problem, there is a specific button on remote to open boot only and then relock car when boot is closed , so either a fault in transmitter or receiver, thinking about it a software update might sort it.

It might be the receiver as it does it with both sets of keys. But yes it's like I'm pressing the open boot (tailgate) button as I unlock the car.

I did get a software update last year under warranty to the latest version so the bluetooth would work with my iPhone. I don't know if there's been another software update since then or whether they'd upgrade it now it's out of warranty.

Interestingly I was talking to a friend of mine who also has a FL2 and his has started doing the same thing and worse in that his boot will open itself as he's driving along.

done a bit of research into this and everything is pointing too moisture ingress into boot switch which causes corrossion and then problems, so perhaps switch should be your first investigation, 90% sure it will be problem with your mates car.

Thanks freelance, hmm maybe moisture froze in our FL2 during the recent freeze which is why both me and my friends car are now playing up.

I've also noticed that if I lock the car then after I couple of minutes I unlock the car the boot stays locked as it should but if I leave it for over about 5 mins and then unlockthe car the boot pops open. Seems odd but I think I'll have a look at replacing the switch and let you know if it fixes the problem.

Anyone know:
1. If I can do his myself or best to give to a dealer
2. Where I can buy a cheaper switch. I don't want to pay £77 and find this doesn't fix it.

Thanks
