Hi,
Having just bought my first Landy I'm looking at a few bits for it.

I will use the car for pigeon shooting and want to protect the the boot area. Seen these on that auction site, has anyone got one or know if these are any good? It seems very good value but I don't know what the quality is like; If it's wafer thin it will get shredded in no time!

Better off with the HD rubber ones btw, I've got one in mine cos the previous owner fitted it then I just put down some extra stuff in there so I didn't mess it up too much and have to clean it all the time

Costco sell a rubber tray - that fits perfectly in the load area, had one for over 6 years and still going strong. (only covers the floor area though)
still sell the for about £15.
As I have the 6th and 7th seats in mine, I had to cut two small holes to allow the seat locator to fit in the bracket in the floor.

NO ! NO ! Those are sodding useless - my father insistes on buying them for every truck or estate he has then spends years shouting at them . The velcro either gets fuzzed up and falls of the car or the velcro sticks to the car and falls off the liner . Anytime you try to put anything at all slightly heavy (like your shopping!) they slide out of place . They are a big wate of time and end up being a real annoyance , catching on everything and protecting nothing . NO ! Did I mention no ?

Look at MM , they sell a high sided rigid liner box for about 50 quid which sounds a lot but mine is still going 10 years on . Ot Paddocks or Island or Craddocks or anyone , but get a rigid . If you cant spend that much , go look for a polyprop box the right size and cut one side out . The rubber mat type are quite good but mostly the same money as a rigid .

You could even just go with the measurements and look at a jap 4x4 store or a commercial van supplies place and get a rigid to suit that way .

But those floppy , velcro on ones ....NO !

So have you made up your mind about the velcro ones yet - I get the impression you're undecided!

I use my disco for rabbit shooting…….I just let the blood go everywhere

isnt a disco a bit of a large calibre for rabbits ? Down here a .22 is generally enough .....maybe you get those bloody huge rabbits up your way....you know , the aussie one....kanga-something ;)

OK, I guess you are not a fan of these!

I appreciate the feedback, and I will opt for a genuine Land Rover rubber mat to protect the boot floor I think. Unless someone can tell me of a "good" quality after market rubber mat?
I am a bit fussy though so it has to be made for the model and not a universal jobie

Thanks again guys!

I bought the RR Classic version of that loadspace protector second hand and it was fine when I had my LSE, but I`ve had the LR oem rigid version in the Defender for 10 years and its better for hard use.

I bought the exact same liner for my boot, IMO its great and well worth the money... The dog gets in after he's been swimming in mud etc. etc. the missus throws hay, straw and all manner of horsey related things in it... Its never torn or leaked and is still in really good condition after about 2 years

Which one are you reffering to please mikeyb?

I got one on my Disco, the seller chucked it in for free, he found to to be extremely useful when he was transporting the dog about.

I also find it to be very handy, can chuck things in without worrying about scuffing plastics, backs of the seat, keeps the floor dry and clean if you spill something, removes in seconds (I haven't connected it to the head restraints I simply wedged it in place using the seats and the roller blind) I like it, I have no reason to get anything else, and it stays in place when pulling anything in or out of the vehicle.. so i have no complaints!)

Have had one of these for 3 years. I put it in the disco when I take the dog or visit the garden centre - carried all sorts - fertiliser, soil, bricks. Still looks good after three years and good value for money I think. Best way to protect the folded up jump seats
