Boot door wont close :(

sorry if its been posted before but i have searched but everything is about the micro switch. so here goes. my boot door wont latch to close, when i press the switch i can hear the actuator, but it wont latch. it wont even latch if i press the catch with a screw driver

any fix or is it a case of getting a replacement lock?

It'll be one of two things. Either the lock has failed, or the actuator is sticking in the open position. You'll need to take the door panel off, so you can see what's up.

Fixed it. Took the lock off the actuator (the white thing I think) was fine, it looks like the white plastic part on the lock wasn’t ‘catching’ the metal part, also seemed like part of it was rusted at the top of the lock. Should have taken pics but for now the lock seems to be...well locking

I suspect the solenoid is getting tired ( actuator)
