Cleaned the air filter the other day cleaned it as per instructions sprayed the red goop in you think it might be sniffing that and getting high? Book came up for no reason I can think of
 
Book symbol is usually blend flaps/motors stuck.
I have found that sometimes turning key in ignition on & off between off and the position before start rapidly many times...seems to jump-start a stuck flap/motor and the book symbol then disappears.
Until the next time a flap gets stuck that is. ;)

they adjust themselves when you put ignition on, mine sticks on hot and won’t blend, after few startups itl change.

Best thing for a K&N is just pick the bits off and gentle swill. Once you re-oil them they are never the same - it’s only light spray, mustn’t put a lot and sevice interval for when to spray it is probably more than your total Mileage. Standard airbox (later type) is more than capable of supplying enough air for what a DSE needs.
Only advantage to k&n is you can flick it out and keep going if you douse it off-road ; paper ones need to be dried thoroughly before you can set off. Changes the sound more than anything.

This is not what would cause book symbol on hevac mind you.
 
just got home, on the way to work it come on 3 time had to stop pull over and start again, on the way back just now, no book at all! seems to have sorted itself out
I did clean and oil it with a proper K&N filter kit, I have use 1/2 of the kit, so I didn't over oil it, once I have cleaned it once more.... after another 7 years lol, I will throw it and get a papers one
But I am hoping to buy another one as you know, so might not be doing it again
But at least the book has gone now
 
Well whoever I give it to will have 1/2 a shed load of stuff not even fitted yet, I have a new indicator stalk, side mirror, the things that heat your seat x2, starter, I think alternator, and a lot of other bits
 
I don't have room in the front, my son parks his every other week on the front I have the RR on there too, her indoors parks on the street, and the Series II is on the street.... enough I think! give it to some one who deserves it, that's helped me out or something
