I need a bonnet prop (scissor/cranked type) for my Series 3, It currently has one from a 90 which is too long. Can someone please post a photo/diagram with dimensions of their series prop so I cut/drill my 90 one.
Many Thanks

I've done away with my bonnet prop, the damn thing was a nightmare. It doesn't raise the bonnet high enough and I was forever cracking my head on the latch pin. I push the bonnet up the windscreen and secure it with a bungy strap, this gives load of extra room and light.

I got fed up with gouging my head so decided to modified mine to raise it a few inches by adding approx 3.75 inches to each stay. This created another problem as the plastic hinge bushes allowed the bonnet to come out of the slot, so I then had to make up some new bushes from an old drift that were a tighter fit.
New stay dimensions lower stay to center hinge 16.5 inches.
Upper stay to bonnet 16.5 inches, which gives a height of 27 inches from bonnet release on rad panel to spike that you catch your head on of 27 inches.
Works well and will one day get around to putting a coat of paint on it.

That's a good idea, next time I see a stay for sale, I'll buy it to modify my original.

the height is good on the defender one I have, it just doesn't fold away correctly. I'll compare your measurements and see where it takes me.

I haven't got round to modifying yet ( to much Christmas stuff getting in the way) . If you have your measurements to hand you can post them but don't go out of your way. Many Thanks.
