Hi everyone, I have just bought myself a 1998 range rover 2.5l dse.

I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction;

The bonnet does not currently latch properly on one side, does anyone have any idea if this is a mechnical or electrical problem and is it quite common?

Also, the central locking doesnt work on the passenger side door.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Could well be that the release cable has partially seized for that side. Passenger door lock is Gav Briggs territory, he recomends stripping the lock motor assembly, cleaning it up etc.

Yep. Just had that. The release handle would not go back fully and so one of the locks remained slightly cocked. Its worth taking off the latches and cleaning them and adjusting the cable tension. Check the micro-switch as well which is in the offside lock. Then, when refitting, tighten the locks on the slam panel but loosen the part on the bonnet (whaddya call em? the spikes on springs that go into the locks?) just slightly so they can move and align themselves with the lower part. Then tighten them, and you should find a very gentle, smooth locking action.
