Just put the bonnet back on with attention to the marks made before removal. This is a 1995 RR Classic, Export edition, LWB.

Tried to close the bonnet and it stuck, half latched. Tried pulling the latch release but it seems not to be latched. The manual release does nothing even with a slight downward pressure. It did not close all the way and will not open.

Checked Rave for emergency access or adjustment but no help there. Short of C-4, any suggestions?

it must be out of allignment and just jammed in the hole.

Make sure both latches are in the undone position and be brutal with it!

worst come to the worst undo the two bolts holding the latch to the bonnet (hood to you) with a ratchet spanner (wrench to you) and get the bonnet out of the way that way and then you can figure out how to get the rest of it out.

I was being to gentle. I had my spouse hold the safety latch then jerked the bonnet upwards. It came open. I had to straighten out the plate with the hole in it. I then covered the plate with white medical tape and applied stamp pad ink to the end of the plunger, lowered the bonnet until the plunger made contact with tape. Then adjusted the hinges until the plunger showed it was centered on the tape over the hole. Now works like it should, nice and smooth.

I did put a wedge under the corner by the safety latch so the spouse did not get her fingers pinched. That undoubedly saved me several lumps on my head.

I do not like the way the bonnet sets on the vehicle. When I removed it there were four shims, one between the bonnet and hinge at each bolt. I put these back as I had found them. They were identical. The bonnet sits about 3/8 inch higher than the adjacent decker panel on the LH side and about 1/8 inch higher on the RH side. The distance between the bonnet and the decker panel is a pinky width at each side. I didn't notice these differences before I removed the bonnet. Am I being to critical?

I am glad my easiest option worked for you.:D

Yes the panel gaps on range rovers are ****!!! mines a thumbs width at the decker panel and its fully on its stops on the hinges!

The shims cant change that!
