Hi to all, just bought my self a TD4. One little problem. The bonnet catch is seizing and needs replacing, has any one done this , the garage say bumper off drain the coolant and remove the radiator £275 It has obviously been going for a while, I have just got dent magician to remobe several small dents on the leading edge chap in the garage pushed down on the bonnet to release it

Seems a lot of effort for a catch advice grateful received thanks

Didn't get a lot of response so just in case anyone else searches in the future
I was retelling the story to a friend who use to be a bus mechanic in London. He offered to check and discovered that a nipple on the bonnet release handle plate had deformed, allowing the catch to rotate 90d before starting to work.
Took it off, straightened the nipple, works like a dream, total cost, 10mins saving £260
Look for the simple things first

A very old post but we're all very lucky the bonnet release system doesn't give much trouble as I have to open mine before every journey to see what's leaked out or dropped off !
