HI everyone boiled up tonight on way home went into red, stoped sraight the undid header tank lot of pressure and boiling rang rac they said up to three hours. So let it cool down then started the engine with cap of and filled with water took about one litre put cap back on then got home. the guy from rac rang told him what happened and that i was nearly home. he said feel rad when u get back if its cold he said thermosat could be sticking witch it was cold. any had this problem buy the way rad was cold all over?:(

i would take tat off, get a pan of hot/just off the boil water and drop it in, if water fills it then doesnt drain it all out of the top its ferked, if it empties the top through the stat then its gonna be rad thats blocked!

when you fill the system, does water come out of the top of the rad at the little pipe?

blow down the pipe (very hard) see if bubbles appear in exp. tank

it will struggle to vent if this pipe is blocked!

will have a go tomorrow to see what happens, thats why i dont think it the head runs to well and oil ok. might just **** it buy new rad, pump, and stat and see what happens next.

not on gas was due to be installed this week but will have to be put on hold now till this sorted.

oh yea, forgot!!!

if the hydro carbon test came back ok, and still does then its got to be something to do with the flow of coolant

seems that way did the hydro carbon test and that was ok, so lets hope its just coolant problem. just another thing just ater it boil up after letting pressure out i started it up with out cap on and it pour out over top of header tank so let it cool and it didnt do that again does that look like blokage?.
