I figured that an aluminium bodied vehicle would be ideal to bring to the islands. No Rust!

However I am noticing that there is quite a bit of corrosion happening on the body panels !

How do I stop or slow cown the corrosion?
And how do I deal with whats already there?

Thanks.

Alodine to control the corrosion and Alacrom to chromate primer the Alloy before painting. Use Mastinox between any Alloy and steel components to reduce electrolytic corrosion.

It aint cheap and ensure yu wear protective clothing at all times.

If I were to repaint the truck , would this be the best primer to use?

Thanks.

If I just left it alone, how bad will it get?
Will it spread fast, is it similar to rust?

Thanks.

Chances are its the salt air that is the problem.... I remember issues with aluminium frames on double glazing when I worked on the south coast. Just found this quote on a Jamacan website...Aluminum gets a form of leprosy when exposed to salt air
