Oh no not him he´s back again! Yes afraid so its me
Although I haven´t got such a silly question as last time
shame on me, but I´m learning.
I´ve been cleaning up the chassis on my 109 working my way down to the rear end, replacing most of the rusty bolts whilst removing what seems to be factory underseal to check on the state of the metal after nearly 30 years. I´m amazed at the good condition for an 83 model that had its first 4 years of life in Dubai then Uk weather for the rest and amazed greater still coming to the rear lhs cross member the one in front of the rear wheel where the front end of the leaf spring bolts into, it was filled with Styrofoam then covered with a piece of aluminium and lots of underseal painted on :alien:
The question I have is it possible for an expert to weld the new cross member to the chassis without removing the body?
