Got to replace the BCM on my Disco 2. I've got a second hand unit and a local specialist to programme it. If I fit the second hand unit without programming it, will the car be driveable or will it be completely dead?

There are several things that will need doing, the fobs will need coding to the new-old unit, the engine ecu will need a security relearn before it will run.Plus the instrument pack will need an odometer update.
Then there are other things like setting suspension and transmission type etc.Personal settings like SPE,speed locking, market programming etc all need editing too.
Cant be done with Testbook as it wont allow a s/hand unit to be programmed nor code the fobs without the original twin barcodes.
Needs to be done with Autologic or similar.

Hi guys,

I have been told i need to fit a new BCM YWC000310 to my Disco 2 and Im looking for advice. Does anybody know where I can get a NEW one? I have found lots of 2nd hand ones but Ive been told that I should only fit a new one. What are you thoughts?

Secondly; how can I be certain this is the problem? Basically I was driving with no problems, stopped then when I came back to the car (without it being locked) the car wouldn't start, it was like the immobiliser had been triggered. Does this sound like the BCM?

Looking forward to your advice,

Thanks,

Matt.
