I just filled the tank of my disco and thought I'd put in some Redex to clean through the injectors. Perhaps that will stop some of the Kangarooing I'm experiencing and improve MPG.On reading the bottle it said it was suitable for two tank fill ups. So, I thought, thats probably for a normal car, so I put the lot in.
Well, all was well until I started to pull up a large hill. A BMW came close behind me ready to overtake, but then dropped right back. I couldn't understand it until I saw the cleaner doing its job and throwing the dirt out the exhaust into the BMW.
And what an improvement. Its running much better already and seems smoother. So perhaps this stuff works? anyone had experience of it actually working as well?

I've been using it for months with each fill of my '94 300Tdi and have no complaints. Unfortunatly because I'm not able to do drive at 60 for much more than 5 miles at a time I'm only getting about 25 miles per tank extra but new job should mean much more uninterupted driving.

use the stuff twice a year on my landie and sprinter van both are like they have had a new lease of life
for best results though best to put in when you are going on a bit of a long run ( tanning it for a good bit)
couple of times a year i have to do a 500 round trip and by the time you get there its noticable on the home strech its very much better

500 mile round trip?

I get about 430 miles out of one tank full so I'd need twice as much Reddex! :p

i'm going to give that a go.
I just got a disco, and i've been asking about getting it tuned(300tdi) just to give a bit more when i pull off a, cos i am sick n tired of mofo drivers up my arris, esp. BMW 4wds.,
Have even been considering waving them round me with a claw hammer, in my hand, its' getting that bad.
Cheers for the post.

you should try the fuel pump tweek. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/richard.martin/discovery/fuelpump.zip i didn't bother doing all of them i just moved the diaphram 90 degrees clockwise and noticed a big improvement

I just about get 360 miles to a tank full (97R 300Tdi ES auto) :( :(

I have a '98 Tdi300 auto and I get a minimum of 530 mls and an average of 600 mls per tankful.

Just got back from a trip to Morocco carrying loads of stuff, high (2500mtr) mountain roads and I still got an average of 33mpg.

Cheers

Have you tried any/all of the following:

1. Changing the air filter?
2. De-EGRing the engine?
3. De-catting the exhaust?
4. Changing the fuel filter?

Cheers
Dave
